You're kidding right? The reason I want to buy a 5-string is because I listen to a lot of music where pick players play a low B...

Well, each instrument has their own distinct personality. It's not about BETTER, they're different. The Musicman has a lot more high end and tends to be more popular for slapping. P Basses are darker and chunkier. They were used for slap a lot back in the 70's, but most dedicated slappers have moved toward the Jazz or Stingray. I love the slap tone, but to my ear, it's a distinctly 70's tone. I use it when the song calls for it.

Wowa you can actually slap a p-bass. I only get some blurry sounds and stuff. I was actually thinking of a musicman copy style Bassguitar for the slap sound. Whats better? Single coils or humbuckers OR soapbars? I like soapbars a lot personally, as well as the sound of a jazz bass.

ok it's a fender..but why that shapeless low b?..i mean, it seems weak compared to the other strings...maybe because it is passive..but i've heard passive basses with a great low b (exemple: warwick tanaris)...isn't it :/?

5-Strings are actually the best pickbasses. I suggest if you play with the pick, take it.

the orignal reason they called em precision bass is becuz before that there was only fretless basses it was the first fretted bass...i think but dont quote me on it
