Hawaiian is not a race, and for statistical purposes Hawaiians are classified as Asian.

Polynesian is more like an "umbrella race." But the ethnicities themselves are different (just look at us...you can tell a Samoan from a Tongan from a Hawaiian). Saying that we're all the same race is like saying a Mexican and a Cuban are the same thing

Depends on how you mean "considered." As a person who is Hawaiian/White, I can tell you that no one in my ancestry has ever considered themseleves to be Asian. Could Hawaiians have come from Asia/Indonesia...possibly. But, we do not consider ourselves to be Asian. We are Hawaiian.

we maori??? my brother...your ancestors were pacific islanders...history shows, quote, polynesians first got to NewZealand.....etc so you were basically samoan/tongan/raro's when you first got here....Maori was a name given to you by pakeha...from what im told it means people of ordanary descent...sad huh.i here you tho...there was no name for the maori ppl...they were identified by iwi..as for the AMERICAN hahahahahahaha ass muncher!!!!peace
