Oh my freakin' gosh!!! That was spectacular! I absolutely LOVE tap-dancing and Fred Astaire!! Though I kept thinking of Mel Brook's "Young Frakenstein"...HAHA.

There's a spring loaded part on the floor. If you notice when he moves off camera and moves back, someone off stage has moved it to a slightly different place.
